How is working with you different than working with other photographers?

Uncomplicated: that’s what makes me different. By that I mean we set up a time and place to meet and then take some pictures! I like to meet at a local park with small children as we can let them play after we take more formal photos…not as a bribe…more of a reward. During the session we chat about random things and it is easy. I am a professional so you don’t need to worry about your child smiling. I will take care of that. You can bring any props or accessories you would like to have in the pictures, but this isn’t required. And then you will magically receive the photos soon thereafter. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

I am a lifestyle photographer which means I am there to photograph life as it really is. My photos are not posed and I am not going to micromanage the scene. Of course if there is something easy to fix, I will do so! But I want my pictures to be natural and something that your children and grandchildren will enjoy years after we are gone.

What should we wear?

Wear something that you feel great in! If we are doing a family session, I suggest picking out clothes for the kids first and then choose your outfit. Stay away from graphic t-shirts: no Superman or Hello Kitty shirts. And if possible, no flip-flops. No one has good looking toes.

What time of day works best?

For portraits anytime of day is good. It's easiest to do these at my home but I am happy to meet you during the week near your office. The sessions take about 20 minutes.

For family photo shoots I like to work in the morning after nap time or after nap time in the afternoon—generally 10 am or 2 pm. But the bottom line is we want to do the shoot when the kids are happy, and you know your kids best. I am flexible. The sessions take about an hour.

How long will it take to receive our photos?

I like to have your photos back to you ASAP. Generally no longer than two weeks and often in less time than that.

Why do you include the digital images in your package cost?

I like taking pictures of people and I want the people I take pictures of to have those photos. Pictures of clients sitting on my hard drive does nothing for anyone. Your photos are also archived on my website, so if you ever suffer a catastrophic loss of data, you can re-download your pictures.

Do you edit all of the photos?

I edit all the photos for color and composition. Additionally I give my clients all of their photos in color and black and white.

What equipment do you use?

I shoot with a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV. I have a couple of lenses I use throughout the sessions.

Do I have to order pictures through you?

No, you can print your photos wherever you like. However, the printing options at my site are vast and the quality is EXCELLENT. I would highly recommend printing the pictures through my site. Additionally, if you need any help choosing your photos please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Why do you include your digital images in the session fee?

Photographers have two pricing models: in one model you pay for the session and then pay for each individual photo you would like to buy from that session. The pricing varies from product to product with the digital image generally costing the most.  The other model -- and the model I use -- all the digital images are included in my session fee. I prefer this model because then my clients receive all their photos and I don't feel like I am nickel and diming my clients. Both models work for different people!

Fine Print

Payment is due at the end of the session, via check or cash. (Paypal can also be arranged.) Due to the custom nature of the work, all sales are final. Of course I want my clients to be happy, so I will work with you to make sure you love your photos.
